Emotion

Problem

No way to practice broker exams on the go

Before Estatest, there was no dedicated mobile app for practicing Israel’s real-estate broker (תיווך) licensing exams in your pocket. Candidates relied on PDFs, desktop sites, or scattered question banks - making it hard to study during commutes, breaks, or short daily sessions.

Even when people found questions, there was no reliable way to understand why an answer was correct - candidates turned to Facebook study groups and often got conflicting replies instead of clear explanations.

The same study gaps kept repeating

Three patterns repeated across Facebook prep groups - the brief for V1 and later V2.

From study groups

  • Is there a good app to study for brokerage exams?

Looking for a tool · Study group

  • Why is the answer B and not A?

Stuck after answering · Study group

  • What’s the correct answer - and which law section?

    Crowdsourced trust · Study group

  • Study-group post asking if a good brokerage exam app exists
    Looking for a tool
  • Study-group post asking why an exam answer is B instead of A
    Stuck after answering
  • Study-group thread with conflicting answers to the same exam question
    Crowdsourced trust

Looking for a tool

Study groups are full of posts asking if a good app exists - and getting no clear answer.

Stuck after answering

People know the letter grade but not why - or which law section backs it up.

Crowdsourced trust

The same question gets different replies in the comments, with no single reliable source.

One place to start - practice, mock exam, and progress visible without hunting through menus.

Question by question

Short sessions built for the bus and the break - answer, get feedback, keep going.

Clear pass / fail

Results that feel like exam day - so candidates know what to drill next, not just a score.

V1 marketing

The same blue brand system powered the launch story - Facebook banner and a promo film that sold the pocket study habit.

Before

PDFs, desktop sites, and study-group posts scattered across the day.

After

A mobile home hub with clear paths into practice, mock exams, and progress.

From candidates

  • I found it four days before the exam and passed largely thanks to it. Fun, easy, and accessible.

Passed in 4 days · WhatsApp

  • There's an app that actually helped me a lot.

    Organic mention · Study group

  • Finally something that isn't another boring PDF.

V2

V1 got candidates practicing on the phone. V2 closed the trust gap - search and law-backed explanations inside the app.

V2

Here are some of the key V2 flows

Redesign focused on question search and trusted explanations - the gaps we saw in study groups.

Practice by year

Drill past exams by year - pick a set, start a session, and stay in one clear practice path.

Answer the question

One question at a time with instant right/wrong feedback - so every tap teaches something.

Answers drawer

Pull up the answer sheet mid-session - see what you marked, jump to any question, keep moving.

Back to the quiz

Leave a sheet or explanation and land right back on the question - no losing your place.

Mock exam

Mock exam - 25 questions like the real test

Pink-accented timed mode: start a full exam, move question by question with a timer, and resume if you leave mid-way. Different job than practice - here the goal is exam-day readiness.

Practice questions

Practice questions - choose how to drill

Orange-accented practice mode: pick by topic, by year, or a recommended set, then get instant right/wrong feedback. No exam timer - just focused reps.

Reflection

My key takeaways

Make practice obvious

Licensing prep is stressful enough; the app has to make the next action visible the second candidates open it.

Trust needs receipts

Answers are not enough when people are studying law-backed material. Explanations and references turn a practice app into a trusted tool.

Mobile wins the gaps

The strongest use case was not a long study session. It was the bus ride, the break, and the last few days before the exam.
